Grounding, lightning protection and electrical protection
We assess design, materials, construction, measurement and documentation for grounding and electrical protection. Scope is confirmed against competent personnel, equipment and installation requirements.
Scope, resources, qualifications and schedule are confirmed following technical review of the project.
Scope and decisions
Grounding is not accepted by appearance; it is accepted by calculation, continuity and measurement.
Performance depends on soil, geometry, materials, fault current, equipotential bonding, joints and maintenance. Acceptance criteria are therefore defined before excavation and every buried connection is recorded before backfilling.
System engineering
Soil, fault current, touch/step voltage, grid layout and coordination with equipment and structures.

Method
Work sequence
Survey
We identify equipment, structures, soil, buried services, existing systems and client criteria.
Engineering
We define geometry, conductors, joints, test points and protection interfaces.
Work planning
We sequence excavation, crossings, connections, inspections and backfilling.
Construction
Installation of grids, rods, down conductors, pits and bonding according to the approved design and agreed records.
Measurement
We verify continuity and performance using a method suitable for the system and site.
Dossier
We hand over drawings, photographs, protocols, material records and observations.
Required inputs
Information required to quote without hidden assumptions
Correct inputs turn a general requirement into an executable, measurable and quotable scope.
- Site plan and equipment to be bonded
- Soil study or resistivity measurements
- Fault current and clearing time
- Touch and step voltage criteria
- Conductor material and cross-section
- Permitted joint method
- Buried utilities and interference
- Lightning protection and down conductors
- Test points and future access
- Measurement and acceptance criteria
Commercial engineering
What drives price and schedule
Ground conditions
Resistivity, rock, moisture, access and excavation determine materials, equipment and output.
Grid size and density
Conductors, rods, branches and bonding points determine the volume of work.
Joint method and inspection
Exothermic welds, certified connectors and photographic records affect time and consumables.
Measurement and acceptance
Method, test points, system isolation and outage availability affect close-out.
Acceptance
Deliverables and close-out documentation
The package is complete when the technical result and the supporting records can be accepted.
- Design basis or calculation scope
- Grounding drawings and details
- Material and joint records
- Pre-backfill photographs
- Continuity and resistance protocols
- Redlines and acceptance dossier
Frequently asked questions
Questions that change scope, price or acceptance.
Can you test an existing grounding grid?
Yes. We first define which sections can be isolated, the applicable method and available drawings. A measurement without context may not represent the complete system.
Can lightning protection be included?
Yes, including air terminals, down conductors, bonding and coordination with grounding according to standard and scope.
How are buried joints documented?
By identification, location or section photographs, material records, inspection and redline before backfilling.
Can you correct out-of-criteria results?
Yes, after analysing continuity, geometry, soil, joints and test conditions to define a defensible correction.
